1. Natural Ingredients

Our products are naturally sourced from plants, flowers, non-petroleum minerals and water. Not only that, our products and colour work - they’re used by hairstylists, and spa professionals worldwide! Our students love the results, and the guests who take products home always love them too.

2. Ethical Sourcing

Not all of the ingredients we need grow in Canada and the US - certain items, like ylang ylang, only grow in specific climates! We partner with communities worldwide to ensure our ingredients are being sustainably grown and that the communities have the support they need to thrive. From Bulgaria to Morocco to Brazil, Aveda works to honour the earth and the people who tend to it.

3. Vegan & Never Tested On Animals

Aveda started out as a company that didn’t test on animals - a radical stance back in 1978. We’ve never wavered in our dedication to animal rights, and as of January 2021, our products are fully Vegan (eliminating all animal byproducts like beeswax). Ingredient readers, rejoice! 

4. Wind-powered

At our primary facility in Minneapolis, Aveda products are made with 100% wind power! Aveda is the first beauty company to take such a step, just another example of how we are a trendsetter in our industry. We want to keep beauty beautiful, from the power used to make our products to the products themselves!

5. Zero Waste

Zero waste products in beauty school? Yes, you heard that right! At their primary facility in Minneapolis, Aveda has mastered zero waste production and is even carbon neutral! No virgin plastics are used in packaging, and the whole life cycle of a product is considered in manufacturing.
