Why Hair School
Four years in university is not for everyone. If traditional university is unappealing to you but you still want a rewarding future, hair school is a great option! Our students work with their hands, gain employment in their field, and graduate in 10 months. Today, becoming a hairstylist means working in a Red Seal Certified trade, in an industry that can’t be offshored, and is expected to grow 31% in the next decade!
How The Program Works
The first step is completing 1400 hours (roughly 10 months) of a mix of hands-on learning and classroom education. Second, students must write a provincial exam to receive your diploma. Third, 1600 hours of apprenticeship must be completed. This typically takes one to two years, as students can start their apprenticeship while they are in school! Lastly, the Red Seal Exam is taken after the apprenticeship is complete. Once this exam is passed, they are then recognized as a Red Seal Certified hairstylist (the highest level of trade certification) across Canada!
